Our Facilities

The Design Unit has a state-of-the-art design studio and fully equipped dedicated prototyping workshop. The design studio includes design spaces for individual and collaborative practice and a full suite of industry standard Computer Aided Design and digital design software and hardware. This includes the ability to engage with eye tracking and high-resolution 3D scanning. The Design Units dedicated prototyping workshop enables us to engage in all aspects of physical and digital prototyping and allows the creation of fully functional and high-fidelity prototypes at a commercial level. The workshop blends a full range of prototyping techniques from traditional soft model through to digital prototyping of four axis CNC milling and 3D printing. Recent investment has also allowed the creation of our electronics prototyping facility to fully support commercial level, prototype functionality of embedded electronic control systems.
